The Reality of Vet Fridays
We partner with Englewood Animal Hospital (located at 340 N Indiana Ave, Englewood, FL) to provide top-tier medical treatment for our residents.
However, their clinic policy is strict: The bill must be paid in full at the end of the day when we pick up our kitties.
This is a massive obstacle we must overcome 52 weeks a year. If we want our sick, injured, and elderly cats to receive life-saving treatments, checkups, and medications, we have to raise the exact funds before Friday arrives.
We must abide by these rules to keep our doors open and our cats cared for.

When Hurricane Ian tore through our community, it completely destroyed four of our brand-new sheds, wiping out our on-site storage spaces in an instant at the Haven.
. With absolutely no remaining room at either the Haven sanctuary or our Business Center, this single storage unit is a non-negotiable lifeline for our daily survival:
- Safeguarding Disaster Infrastructure: It is the only secure space we have left to protect our critical disaster gear—housing our emergency generators, tools, hurricane supplies, and the wood needed to board up the Haven during a storm.
- Museum Inventory: It stores the extra retail inventory required to keep The Pop Culture Antique Museum up and running.
- Cutting Down Overhead: We do not have cat food deliveries here with Phillips Wholesale anymore, which is what allowed us to drop our second storage unit to save money.
- Survival Pipeline: Because we lost our sheds, this one remaining space is packed to the brim with everything needed to pull our rescue operations through a crisis. We simply cannot afford to lose it.
